Credits, what uses them, and the notice at 80%
See how many credits you have, what each action costs, and what happens when they run low
Updated 11 October 2026
Credits are the one thing SpamCipher charges for by use. Checking an address, finding an address, asking Cipher AI to write or score something, and a full Domain Health scan each use a few credits. Sending, mailboxes, warm-up, the CRM and automations are free. This guide shows where to see your balance, what uses it, and what happens at 80%.
Before you start
- A SpamCipher account
- About 4 minutes
See your credits
Step 1: Open Plan & Usage
- Click Plan & Usage at the top right of any page.
Step 2: Read the two balances
- Monthly plan credits shows what is left of this month's credits and how many you have used. It resets on your billing date.
- Pay-as-you-go balance is what you bought as one-time packs. It never expires and is used after the monthly credits.
- The line above them lists what each action costs.
Step 3: See where your credits went
- Click the receipt button on the right of the page.
- Where your credits went groups the last 7, 30 or 90 days by what used them.
- Click See every charge, line by line for each charge with its date.
When credits run low
Step 4: The sending allowance and the notice at 80%
- On a workspace that is not on SpamCipher ONE, the Sending section shows how many campaign emails your credits allow. Every credit adds 1.25 sends.
- At 80% a notice appears on the Campaigns page. At 100% campaigns hold their place and carry on as soon as more credits arrive.
- On SpamCipher ONE, sending has no limit, which is what this workspace shows.
Step 5: Buy more
- Under Buy credits, pick a pack. Bigger packs cost less per credit.
- Packs never expire, and the credits are in your balance as soon as the payment goes through.
Troubleshooting
My monthly credits went down more than I expected
Open Where your credits went and look at the last 7 days. An agent that runs daily and Cipher AI answers use 5 credits a call; a bulk check uses 1 per address.
A verification used a credit but the result is UNKNOWN
UNKNOWN is never charged. If the ledger shows a charge for it, the address was checked as part of a batch that also had charged results; write to support with the line from the ledger.
My campaigns stopped and the page says sending is on hold
Your sending allowance is used up. Buy a credit pack, or move to SpamCipher ONE on Buy Credits, and sending resumes on its own.
