Why was I signed out?
The four things that end a sign-in, and what to do about each
Updated 11 October 2026
SpamCipher keeps you signed in for 30 days from your last sign-in, 60 if you ticked Remember me, and signs you out before that only for a reason. This guide lists the reasons, so you can tell which one it was and stop it happening again.
Before you start
- About 2 minutes
Check and fix
Step 1: Sign in again, and tick Remember me
This step happens outside SpamCipher.
- Sign in from app.spamcipher.com. Remember me keeps the sign-in for 60 days instead of 30.
Step 2: Stop the browser clearing cookies
This step happens outside SpamCipher.
- In your browser's privacy settings, allow cookies and site data for app.spamcipher.com and api.spamcipher.com, and turn off clearing site data on exit for them. A privacy extension that blocks third-party cookies is fine; one that clears all cookies is not.
Step 3: Check your account email and password
- Click your name at the bottom of the left menu, then Settings, then the Account tab. The email address shown is the one you sign in with; if you changed your password recently, use the new one everywhere.
Troubleshooting
It happens every day on one computer
That browser clears site data when it closes. Turn that off for app.spamcipher.com, or use another browser profile for work.
I was signed out of one workspace but not the others
An Owner or Admin removed you from it. Ask them to invite you again.
I was signed out in the middle of something
The app signs out only on a clear sign-out reason; a lost connection shows an error instead. Sign in again; what you had saved is still there.
