Affiliate Program Terms
These terms govern the SpamCipher affiliate program: how a referral is credited to you, what you earn, when and how you are paid, and the rules for promoting SpamCipher. They sit alongside our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, which also apply to you. By applying to the program you agree to them.
1.Joining the program
You apply through our application form or from the partner area in the app. We read every application and approve or decline it at our discretion; we do not have to give a reason. You must be at least 18, give us true information, and keep one affiliate account. You do not need to be a SpamCipher customer.
Once approved you get a link and a code, and a partner area in the app that shows your clicks, referrals, commissions and payouts. The partner area stays open to you whether or not you have a paid SpamCipher plan.
2.How a referral is credited
- A visit to any page of spamcipher.com through your link sets a cookie that lasts 60 days. If the visitor clicks another affiliate's link later, the later click replaces yours.
- The last affiliate link clicked before a workspace signs up, or before its first purchase, gets the credit, within 60 days of the click. Once a workspace has paid, the credit does not move.
- Only new customers count: a workspace less than 60 days old that has never paid. A second workspace of someone who is already a customer is never a referral.
- One account earns commission for one promoter. Where a link and a customer's own referral code both apply, the link wins.
- For the first 90 days of the program, credit comes from link clicks only; typed codes do not credit a referral.
- If you believe a referral was missed, tell us within 60 days of the customer's first payment. Our tracking records decide.
3.What you earn
The rate. 30% of what each referred customer pays for the first 12 months of their subscription, then 10% for as long as that subscription continues without a break of more than 60 days.
Founding affiliates. If we approve you before December 31, 2026, every customer you refer in your first 12 months as an affiliate earns you 40% for that customer's first 12 months, then 10%.
What counts. SpamCipher ONE, monthly and annual, and enterprise contracts billed through our standard checkout. Commission is worked out on the amount the customer actually pays, after any discount and before taxes.
What does not count. Credit packs, done-for-you setup, verification packs, taxes, and any amount that is refunded, disputed or not collected.
The customer's discount. Customers who arrive through your link get 10% off SpamCipher ONE for their first three months on a monthly plan, or off their first invoice on an annual plan. You may not offer any other discount, bonus or incentive that we have not published.
4.Holds, payouts and reversals
- Each commission is pending for 30 days from the customer's invoice, so refunds can clear. It then becomes due.
- We pay due balances of $50 or more on the 15th of each month. A smaller balance rolls over to the next month. Amounts are in US dollars.
- Commission on an annual plan is paid in 12 monthly parts, each rounded to the cent.
- If a customer is refunded, in full or in part, or disputes a payment with their bank or card issuer, we reverse the matching commission in proportion. If it was already paid, we take it from your next balance. If your balance stays negative and you leave the program, you agree to repay it.
- If a referred workspace is suspended for abuse within 90 days of its first payment, its commission is forfeited.
- With each payout we issue a statement you can keep as an invoice.
5.Payment details and tax
We pay by PayPal, in US dollars, to the PayPal address you keep in your partner area. You are responsible for it being correct; a payment sent to the address you gave us counts as paid. We may add other payment methods later.
SpamCipher pays from Canada. Before your first payout we need your legal name, address, country and, where you have one, your tax number. Canadian residents paid $500 or more in a calendar year may receive a T4A slip. If you are registered for GST/HST in Canada, give us your number and it appears on your statements. You are responsible for your own taxes wherever you live.
6.How you may promote SpamCipher
Promote SpamCipher honestly, to an audience that chose to follow you: reviews, tutorials, comparisons, newsletters, videos, podcasts, posts and community answers where links are welcome. Wherever your link appears, say clearly that you may earn a commission.
You may not:
- run paid ads that carry your link or send traffic to it, on search, social or display networks, while this restriction is in place;
- bid on SpamCipher or any misspelling of it as a search keyword, at any time;
- list your link or a SpamCipher discount on coupon, deal, cashback or rebate sites;
- refer yourself, your own workspaces or anyone acting for you;
- send unsolicited email, messages or comments carrying your link;
- hide or disguise your link, or use pop-ups, forced clicks, cookies set without a real click, or automated traffic;
- recruit other affiliates under you or pass your link to a network;
- make claims SpamCipher does not make, including guaranteed inbox placement, guaranteed results or invented prices;
- present yourself as SpamCipher, register domains or social accounts using our name, or change our logo.
You may use our name and the files in the assets folder in your partner area, as provided, only to promote SpamCipher under these terms.
7.Self-referral and fraud
When a referral is credited we compare signals such as payment details, email domains and network addresses with your own. A match holds the commission for review. Commission from fake accounts, self-referrals or traffic that breaks these terms is forfeited, and we may end your participation.
8.Pausing and ending
You may leave the program at any time by writing to us. We may pause or end your participation at any time. If two of your referred workspaces are suspended for abuse, your account is paused while we review it.
If you leave, or we end your participation for a reason other than a breach of these terms, commissions already earned are paid on the normal schedule and no new ones are earned. If you breach these terms, any unpaid balance is forfeited.
9.Changes to the program
We may change these terms or the rates. We give at least 30 days' notice of a change that affects what you earn, and customers already credited to you keep the rate that applied when they were credited. We may close the program with 30 days' notice; commissions earned up to the closing date are paid on the normal schedule.
10.General
You take part as an independent business, not as our employee, agent or partner in law, and you may not make promises on our behalf. Our total liability to you under these terms is limited to the commissions paid to you in the 12 months before the claim. The governing law and dispute resolution section of our Terms of Service applies to these terms. If any part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies.
