If your leads already come from your CRM, a data vendor or your own research, the platform's job is to get those leads verified, sequenced, delivered and answered. Apollo is a strong database with engagement around it. SpamCipher lets you bring your own leads, verifies never-checked campaign leads for free before the first send, and runs sequences, replies and deliverability protection in one plan, while its own lead search stays free to browse for the day you need it.
Plenty of teams search for "Apollo without the lead gen". They already pay for data elsewhere, or their best leads are customers and partners they know by name, and what they need is a dependable way to reach those people. Apollo is built around its database, which is the right center of gravity for prospect discovery. When discovery is solved, the center of gravity moves to sending, replies and keeping the domain healthy.
What Apollo does well
Apollo combines a large B2B database with engagement. Its site describes 240M+ contacts and 30M+ accounts, multichannel sequence steps across email, calls and networking platforms, a task queue and unified rep inbox, and meeting scheduling. On deliverability it describes domain warming, inbox rotation and reputation monitoring, and the option to buy dedicated sending domains and mailboxes inside Apollo.
Two practical notes from its pricing page, checked on October 26, 2026: it lists Free, Basic, Professional and Custom plans without numeric prices, and it notes that email campaigns on the free plan use Gmail accounts only.
What changes when you already have your leads
With the list already in hand, the questions get more specific:
- How do leads get in? From a file, a saved list, your email platform, or your CRM, without retyping.
- Who checks them? A list from last year will have bounced addresses in it. They need verifying before the first send, not after the bounce rate climbs.
- Which mailboxes send, and how much? Volume has to be spread across mailboxes and kept inside each one's daily cap.
- What happens when a mailbox slips? Someone, or something, has to slow it before the domain takes the damage.
- Where do replies go? One inbox, labelled by intent, so the interested people are answered first.

You only pay for data when you use it
The common worry with an all-in-one platform is paying for a database you do not need. In SpamCipher, searching Super Search costs nothing, an email reveal is charged only when an address is found, and each person is unlocked once per workspace. Sending costs no credits. A team that brings its own leads uses its SpamCipher ONE credits on verification, Email Finder lookups for the odd missing address, and AI steps, and leaves the rest of the database alone until it is useful.
A worked example: a 6,000-lead CRM export
A RevOps team exports 6,000 contacts from its CRM for a re-engagement sequence.
- Import: the file goes into a campaign. Leads that were never checked are verified before the first send, at no charge, so the dead addresses drop out instead of bouncing.
- Sequence: three steps with delays and a condition, "only if they have not replied", and two subject line variants on the first step with an automatic winner.
- Mailboxes: six connected mailboxes on two domains. Leads rotate across them inside each mailbox's daily cap, and a thread stays on the mailbox that started it.
- Before launch: a placement test with the first email shows inbox, spam or missing by provider, and a spam score flags any risky copy per step.
- Replies: answers arrive in Unibox labelled Interested, Out of office, Wrong person and so on; the interested ones are handled first.
What you get beyond sending
SpamCipher is an AI-powered sales engagement platform, B2B lead intelligence database, and email deliverability and security suite in one product, so the same plan covers the work around the send: DMARC monitoring that shows every source sending in your name, domain health checks with plain-language fixes, blacklist monitoring every 6 hours, uptime checks on your mail servers and website, and Cipher Agents for replies, deliverability and lead top-ups. You can start with your own list and grow into the rest without moving tools.
